Ecclesiastes 1-7 can be summoned up as, ‘Remember the Lord before nothing else matters’.
As frightening as it can be to realize (for the first or one hundredth time) that literally the only thing going to Heaven is our soul, we can also find great comfort in knowing that when our time approaches, our affairs will already be in order if we are baptized in Christ.
Being a daughter of Christ also enables us to fully enjoy each bit of life, even if our dog or favorite purse won’t quite make it to Heaven with us.
The last word, when all is heard: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this concerns all humankind Ecclesiastes 12:13
It all comes down to that, ladies. The fear of the Lord—our key to meaning in this short chapter called the book of life.
