Welcome sisters to Philippians, one of the most joyful books in the Bible. Despite being locked away in prison, Paul writes this letter to thank the Philippians for their concern and care of him. The letter to the Philippians exudes joy within suffering and is filled with wisdom on how to truly live like Christ. I can’t wait to share with you all that I have found in this letter. For me, it came down to one overarching theme, one that I desperately needed: attitude.
I can respond to the same situation in different ways depending on the attitude I had coming into it. But the problem with attitudes is that they are so volatile and ever-changing. If we are called to living out a Christ like life, that must start with our attitude, but how do we keep a Christ like attitude when everything is working against us?
These are some of the questions we are going to be exploring in this study. Paul is the perfect example of someone who, despite the odds, kept Christ at the center of his heart and mind. When we are like Paul, when Christ is the goal that is constantly before us, our words and actions will follow that goal. Sounds simple, but it’s easier said than done!
My prayer is that God will speak to you through Paul’s words these next few weeks. I know he has touched my heart during this process. Philippians truly has something for everyone; whether you are suffering big life crises, or have a rocky week, or even if everything is going great but you don’t feel as great as your life is going.
The next two weeks are all about adjusting our attitudes and focusing in on Christ. Are you ready?
