How we began...
In 1989, a small group of Christian women realized that, when faced with an unintended pregnancy, most women turned to only one place: the local abortion clinic. Believing that women deserve better options, they began providing pregnancy tests in their homes, as well as lay counseling via a hotline. Local churches donated baby items and maternity clothes, which the women stored in their garages. In 1992 the ministry was incorporated under the name Alternate Avenues, and began renting a small office space in Ontario.
Now known as Assure Pregnancy Clinic, the ministry operates a fully licensed medical clinic. Under the supervision of a volunteer physician, services now include lay counseling, pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, prenatal health assessments, assistance with presumptive eligibility for Medi-Cal, and referrals for community resources. The Clinic is located in Fontana and serves a large number of previously abortion intended clients.These women are given the opportunity to understand all of their options before making a life-changing decision about their pregnancies.
On average, Assure Pregnancy Clinic serves 60-100 new clients per month. An additional 20-30 women and men participate in our Bridges Long-Term Parenting Support program. Group participants “earn” Baby Bucks while learning parenting skills and childbirth education. New and gently used items such as clothing, diapers,strollers, and cribs, donated by local churches and individuals, can be purchased with their Baby Bucks.
Understanding that one in every four women has experienced the pain of abortion, Assure Pregnancy Clinic also provides Abortion Recovery Assistance through the “Forgiven and Set Free” Bible study. Women are healed from the pain of their abortions and find that, through compassionate support, they can receive God’s forgiveness. And, most difficult of all, they learn to forgive themselves.
All of the services and programs of Assure Pregnancy Clinic are provided free of charge to the clients and their families.
Now located in Fontana, Assure Pregnancy Clinic has seen an average 70% increase in client traffic over the last 3 years, a clear indication that the ministry strategically placed.
Assure is entirely funded by private donations from individuals, churches, and corporations. It takes a team of supporters to raise the necessary funds each year to continue providing excellent, professional medical services and support to women in our communities.

Note: If you are a part of a women or mens group, a pregnancy counseling center is beautiful to connect with. Heart of Mary Women's Fellowship Parish ministry in Alta Loma Ca, shares event and volunteer opportunities for the center, hosts an annual baby shower for the centers mommy to be's, as well as gifts at Christmas for their needy families. So simple and such a blessing!
